Nurse Team Leader

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Team Leader to provide clinical leadership within our busy rural practice. This role is responsible for supporting high standards of nursing care, leading quality initiatives, and fostering a high-performing, patient-centered team

In addition to leading the nursing team, you can still enjoy clinical time on the floor to stay connected to day-to-day patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership, mentorship and direction to the nursing team

  • Ensure safe, effective and culturally responsive care is consistently delivered

  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and contribute to policy and process development

  • Oversee performance, support professional growth and promote top-of-scope practice

  • Collaborate effectively with the wider clinical and administrative teams

Skills & Experience Required

  • NZ Registered Nurse with current practising certificate

  • Minimum three years’ post-registration experience

  • Demonstrated leadership capability (rural or acute care experience desirable)

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills

  • Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement

  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand

Position Details

  • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (Flexibility available for the right candidate)

  • No night shifts, Sundays or public holidays

  • Occasional Saturday morning shifts

Nurse Prescriber / Practitioner

We are seeking a Nurse Prescriber / Practitioner to join our supportive team.
Full-time or Part Time (for the right applicant)

We are a busy rural practice with diverse clinical cases

  • Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand

  • Excellent communication and clinical skills

We provide acute care services, local rest home rounds and outreach clinics (run collaboratively with Māori Health Provider)
Our clinic has a team of 8 GPs, 1 physician associate, 1 nurse prescriber, 14 skilled nurses,1 health improvement practitioner, 2 health coaches and 10 reception staff.
